Admissions

When applying to TU, international students must ensure that they satisfy the general admissions requirements, including the first-year prerequisite and GPA requirements of their program. In addition to these requirements, international students must meet the admissions criteria outlined below.

Additional Admissions Criteria for International Students

International students who have attended a high school, university or college outside of Canada, the United States, or the United Kingdom must have an Evaluation Report completed for their academic transcripts. An evaluation report assesses the student’s credentials and determines U.S. equivalence and GPA. If the transcript is in a non-English language, it will need to be translated to English.

Companies that offer Evaluation Reports:

The company providing the Evaluation Report must mail the report along with a copy of the academic transcript(s) to the TU Office of Admissions.

International students whose native language is not English will have to submit proof of English proficiency such as TOEFL or IELTS Certification (6.0 or above).

International Learning at a Glance

We understand that online learning may be new to you. From day one, we provide international students with a range of supports and services to ensure that their experience at TU is successful. All of our staff are well-educated on how to help or direct international students to the right resources.

Each new student is introduced to online learning through our first-year orientation program and online tutorials and guides. Our robust system of technical support, assists students throughout their studies and ensures that the online learning process is as smooth as possible.

International students taking a program at TU should expect a supportive learning environment that encompasses regular communication with their course instructor and peers. Students can complete coursework at their own pace, and around their schedule.

International students graduating from our programs have the knowledge and skills they need to start their own businesses, pursue a graduate degree, or advance professionally. TU offers career counselling services to students to help prepare them for their future. Services include online workshops on resume building, interview skills, job search strategies, and more. Students are also provided with work placement and employment opportunities through our international network of corporate partners.
