At TU we use a holistic approach when reviewing your admissions application. Our primary objective when considering a prospective student for admission is to determine whether the student will be able to successfully complete their chosen program.
We understand that not every student is the same and that each individual has their own unique set of experiences, credentials, and education. That is why we evaluate each candidate comprehensively, taking every factor into consideration. Things we consider when assessing a student for admission include their GPA, goals, maturity, previous education, and leadership ability.
To be admitted into an undergraduate or graduate program offered at TU, students must have the prerequisite credential and cumulative GPA required by their chosen program.
| Program | Prerequisite | Cumulative GPA |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences | High School Diploma | 2.8 |
| Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and Health Informatics | Bachelor or Masters Degree | 2.8 |
| Master of Science in Nutrition | Bachelor Degree | 2.8 |
| Master of Health Sciences in Primary Care | Doctor of Medicine | 2.8 |
| Master of Health Sciences in Internal Medicine | Doctor of Medicine | 2.8 |
| Master of Health Sciences in Aesthetic Medicine | Doctor of Medicine | 2.8 |
In addition to fulfilling the first-year prerequisite and GPA requirements of their program, international students must meet additional criteria.
International students who have attended a high school, university or college outside of Canada, the United States, or the United Kingdom must have an Evaluation Report completed for their academic transcripts. An evaluation report assesses the student’s credentials and determines U.S. equivalence and GPA. If the transcript is in a non-English language, it will need to be translated to English.
The company providing the Evaluation Report must mail the report along with a copy of the academic transcript(s) to the TU Office of Admissions.
International students whose native language is not English will have to submit proof of English proficiency such as TOEFL or IELTS Certification (6.0 or above).
Mature students seeking admission to TU will be assessed on an individual basis. Those with a GPA lower than the required GPA for the program they are applying to will be considered for admission. Strong letters of recommendation are advised. An interview or prior learning assessment may be requested as part of the admissions process. Prior learning assessments include entrance tests and prerequisite courses.
Students interested in taking an undergraduate course for personal or professional development or to meet the requirements of a degree program, may apply for admission.
Non-degree students must meet the same prerequisite and GPA requirements as first-year undergraduate students.
Upon successful completion of the course, non-degree students will earn equivalent credits to those enrolled in the degree program.
Successful applicants will receive an offer of admission to TU. Those wishing to proceed with admission must complete the Admissions Acceptance Form and pay a Tuition Deposit of $500. The Tuition Deposit will be credited to the first semester tuition.
