Transfer Credits

Transfer Credits

If you have completed courses at another post-secondary institution, those credits may be eligible for transfer to TU. Transfer credits allow you to save time and money as you work towards your degree at TU and put you on a quicker path to an exciting career.

As part of our admissions process, we evaluate your past academic experience and award transfer credits based on a set of requirements. Your final grade, the course curriculum, and time elapsed since course completion, are a few factors we consider when granting transfer credits.

Articulation Agreements

TU has articulation agreements in place with a number of post-secondary institutions around the world to streamline credit transfer processes. These agreements allow your past academic accomplishments to be recognized at TU. Each articulation agreement is unique and outlines the policies for credit transfer between institutions.

Credit Transfer Process

To have your previous courses considered for transfer credit, you will need to submit your final post-secondary transcripts along with your admissions application.

Upon admission to TU, the Office of the Registrar will assess your post-secondary courses and award transfer credits as appropriate.

Please note that grades from previously completed courses approved for transfer credit will not be included in the calculation of your academic average at TU.

Credits for Non-Course Activity

Credits may be awarded for non-course activity such as workplace experience and non-credit courses. Non-course activity will be evaluated using prior learning assessments. A maximum of 16 credits may be granted for non-course activity.

Residency Requirements

Residency requirement refers to the amount of credit hours that must be completed at TU to earn your degree.

The residency requirement to graduate from an undergraduate program at TU is 60 credit hours.

Residency requirements for graduate programs vary depending on the academic program. Use our program finder to discover what the residency requirement is for your graduate program.
