The Master of Science in Nutrition is a 4 semester program that is delivered in an online format. It explores all aspects of human nutrition and is focused on developing student’s research skills. The program culminates in a final thesis where students can study an area of interest within nutrition.

As part of the curriculum, students will investigate topics such as nutritional planning, intervention, and health promotion, and their function in enhancing patient care. They will learn about the science behind nutrition and deepen their understanding of concepts through case studies.

The program is completed through independent study. Students can work through courses at their own pace, under the guidance of faculty and with the support of peers.

Graduates will be prepared to pursue a career in Nutritional Services Management, Nutritional Consulting, Community Health Education, and more in a variety of sectors including public health, non-profit, and healthcare.

Admisison

To be considered for admission to the program, the applicant must fulfill the following requirements:

    Four-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Trillium University

    Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8

  • Trillium University

  • If an applicant does not meet the GPA requirement for the program but has relevant experience in the subject area and satisfies each of the other requirements, they will be considered for admission. An interview or prior learning assessment may be requested as part of the admissions process.

    Courses & Curriculum

    The Master of Science in Nutrition covers a broad range of topics within Nutrition. The program can be completed in 4 semesters, or 12 months, however students have the flexibility to complete coursework at their own pace.

    The following timetable shows the courses offered as part of the program and reflects the standard timeline for completion.

    First Year

    Semester 2

    • MSN 201: Introduction to Clinical Naturopathy
    • MSN 202: Clinical Nutrition I
    • MSN 203: Clinical Nutrition II

    Semester 3

    • MSN 301: Ethics in Healthcare
    • MSN 302: Food in Modern Society
    • MSN 303: Nutritional Education

    Second Year

    Semester 1

    • MSN 401: Studies in Nutritional Epidemiology
    • MSN 402: Marketing and Nutrition
    • MSN 403: Final Thesis

    Tuition & Fees

    Below are the tuition fees for the Master of Science in Nutrition program. If you are a senior, military, or veteran student we offer a reduced rate.
